既に指摘がありますが納得しない人もいるようなので: "doesn't need * it speaks for itself"でググれば類例がいくらでも出てきます。

It speaks for itself. good, credible music doesn't need pushing, it speaks for itself. This fight doesn't need explanations/descriptions. It speaks for itself.

「今更何を言っているんだ!」とか「当たり前だろ!」と怒っているわけではありません。
これらの例ではitは前文の主語を指していて、
(素晴らしすぎて)それ自体が宣伝や説明となるため代弁や説明、宣伝の必要がないという意味です。

その文例は全部「前段で何かを褒めている」よね
ひるがえって今回のは「Cinnamonにマスコットなんて必要ない」と言ってるだけだ
怒っているかは判らないけど「そんなの自明だろ」と言ってるだけに見えるよ
